Change Outlook’s offline folder file location

If you are connecting to an outlook exchange server and would like to change the offline folder file location but unable to do so, try the following steps to change it.

Detailed Steps

  1. Close and quite Outlook
  2. Go to Control Panel and search mail. Click on Mail (32-bit)as shown below
  3. Select Data Files

  4. Double click on the mailbox that you want to change
  5. Click Offline Folder File Settings

  6. Take note of the current location
  7. Click OK to go back and uncheck Use Cached Exchange Mode

  8. Click OK. Outlook will prompt you to restart Outlook
  9. Click OK and double click on the mailbox again
  10. Click Offline Folder File Settings again
  11. Click Disable Offline Use button
  12. Select Yes
  13. Click Offline Folder File Settings again. You will notice that the Browse button is enabled now
  14. Move the PST file to the new location.
  15. Go back to the Offline Folder File Setting prompter and click Browse
  16. Select the new PST file in the new location and click OK
  17. Click OK to close the Offline Folder File Settings window
  18. Tick Use Cached Exchange Mode
  19. Click OK all the way back and you are done!
